Yes it does contain adorable chipmunks that steal your heart at the first second that they appear on screen. But Jason Lee, the lead actor and hence the person on which the success of the film hangs cannot act. The visual effects are sometimes not good at all but in general they work. Childish, annoying, predictable and aimless, Alvin and the Chipmunks is cute and fun at times but sadly only lasts for one viewing.
