Review of Aluna (2012) by Niloo R — 12 Sep 2014
It was interesting to become aware of the existence of the cogi tribe and learn about how they viewed and lived in the world, but this film didn't offer much of that. instead, it was a preachy and on-the-nose "save-the-environment" flick that managed to simultaneously patronize both the cogi and its western viewers.
I felt like there was great room here for artistry or authenticity, but the final product was little more than the most bland sense of the word "documentary".
