Review of Altered States (1980) by Hughbert B — 19 Jun 2007
Pretty entertaining, intelligent in its own way, and certainly guilty of being a little silly--but look who directed it. I don't think the sheer insanity was unintentional. William Hurt has been in films more appropriately called masterpieces, but this was still one hell of a debut and you'll have trouble finding anything else quite like it.
