Review of Altered States (1980) by Alexander T — 16 Aug 2007
The "2001" of the horror genre. This one is a blend of hard science and campy B 50's monster movie, with a lot of...erm...well, crazy shit thrown in, ala Salvador Dali and Hieronymus Bosch.
Either way this is a well-cast, well-written opus, the air-bladder make-up effects are cool and there are some images (7-eyed, goat-headed Jesus anyone?) that you aren't apt to forget any time soon.
