Wild by Warner Bros standards yet mild by director Ken Russell's, this trippy sci-fi tale of forced transcendence is fairly interesting, often wacky and, despite much scientific gobbeldygook being thrown around left & right, it ends on a surprisingly humanistic note.
Impressive, throw-everything-at-it film debut from William Hurt.
