Review of Alphaville (1965) by Jason B — 04 Oct 2007
Not the best godard film i've seen, but still good. I loved the noir meets sci-fi, meets elements of fairy tale mixture of genres. godard normally has monologues in his films that stand out (in a good way) from the rest of the film.
in this film, that was the case, however, the monologues were exceptionally profound, but the general dialogue in the film was not as interesting or informative as i'd expected. the film started rather slowly, as well, but really picked it up just before midway, I would say.
definitely worth seeing.
