Review of Alphaville (1965) by Bill T — 05 Sep 2009
Alphaville still remains a stunning daring-do of Science Fiction, even though Godard doesnt have any special effects in it. He just lets 1965 Paris play itself, and let the characters help us play the scenario out.
I mean, only Godard can do this. Try doing Blade Runner in 1985 Los Angeles (actually, it COULD work come to think of it). Full of stuff I can't quite figure out and Eddie Constantine being a total bad-ass, you just can't go wrong with this one folks.
