Review of Alphaville (1965) by John S — 17 Feb 2011

I dont think its a good idea for me to write a review on a movie that I didn't really pay attention to but here goes anyway.

I thought that alphaville was massively interesting but I had difficulty really getting into and into it's style. I appreciated the fantastic dialogue, and amazing imagery, but I had trouble grasping the totality of the film. I mean, I only realized it was a satire after watching. The fact that I didn't "get" this movie right away, or at least, soon after, could be a fault on my part, or it could just be the result of vague storytelling. But then again, it's Godard. Why was I expecting a straightforward narrative?

Im gonna have to watch this again.
