Review of Alpha Dog (2006) by Ruhan R — 07 Feb 2010
This movie had alotta potential but it was wasted. The script should have covered more content on Truelove's rise to power and some more details on his op. A dealing scene or two would have been good.
It seemed like an excuse to have a bunch of joints and beers on screen. After the kidnapping it just seemed like a series of party scenes. The acting was very good though, I actually liked Justin Timberlake's actng, which surprised me.
I was waiting for the kidnapped kid to bust out into a monologue about how the dealers freed him from capitivity and gave him what he needed, but it didn't happen. It seemed like the film couldn't pick a protagonist, the focus kept shifting.
It was obvious that this movie was designated for a young audience, which almost always yields bad results.
