Review of Alpha Dog (2006) by Andy D — 11 Apr 2011

This really isn't my normal sort of film, I'm not a gangster movie fan really, but I have to confess that I found this to be really quite compelling viewing.

The performances are all solid enough, Timberlake is the best I've seen him in a film, and it's even better if you're female as he spends a lot of the film with his shirt off! Ben Foster is also excellent, and gives his character a real intimidating air, and Anton Yelchin captures the innocence of the younger brother very well, the story really being all about what happens to him after being kidnapped.

Now, I must confess I didn't cry at this, much to the disgust of someone extremely close to me...but don't let that detract from anything, I'd certainly recommend this to most people.
