I went into this movie with higher expectations. The first trailer was great but then the second trailer dumbed it down into a typical Disney pic. Great storyline, albeit certainly not original still very engaging.

However it fell short with me for several reasons. The lead child was, frankly, not a very good actor. There was just something about him that didn't sit well with me. He was just not cave man enough for me.

I know, I'm typecasting here but honestly. The part that made me laugh out loud was towards the end of the movie. Here we are, after all this struggle and time out in the wilderness and to show how much he's grown up and matured they give him a pre pubescent porn- stasch.

Fitting I suppose since he's about as manly as I was at that age but it was still ill timed and laughable. Also, come on Disney. CG is so good this day that I expect to see Golum quality on every film.

Not cheesy looking CG animals. It today's world it just distracts and draws away from the realism.
