A refreshing experience of a simple tale beautifully told. The sweeping landscapes demand your respect. The characters communicating simply, using few words evoke wisdom. Using subtitles throughout making sure they were simple sentences to follow.
I appreciate the decision to NOT tell the story in the English language. The language they spoke was so beautiful that it made me look it up. The build up of the story was slower than we may be accustomed to yet kept us intrigued.
The cinematography was stellar and worthy of multiple throat gulps. I kept wanting to capture snapshots of various scenes. The story was not new but retold masterfully. The ending was refreshing. The movie full of heart, beauty and purpose.
In a time where the movie box is dominated by formulaic superhero stories, it's invigorating to see a simple story unfold as magic.
