Review of Alone in the Small Hours (1978) by Nathan G — 20 Jul 2011
I don't know why, but I've always liked Christian Slater. Maybe it is the dry delivery or the near permanent smirk. Anyway, it is his charisma that makes this worth a look, but only just barely. Any movie that starts off with about two minutes of narration just to bring you up to speed is bound to have problems with telling a story. A good amount of action, decent special effects, but not enough explanation of what is going on. Tara Reid is a nice looking bonus. I was not surprised to read that this is based on a video game I'd never heard of.
