Review of Alone in the Dark (2005) by Jeffrey M — 24 Apr 2012
Astoundingly inept and confused film making. How Boll roped in Slater and Dorff is just as baffling and begs the question why other named actors would go on to appear in his later works.
There is no evidence of the games ideas or characters and instead we have sticky dogs and a psychic Carnby for no apparent reason. Not even watchable for laughs as the action and plot are just so boring there's nothing to engage with in a good or bad way... just forgettable start to end.
Credit where it's due the effect were reasonable, acting mostly passable, occasionally the camera work had movement to it and this time Mr Boll didn't cut in scenes of computer game play.
