Review of Aloha (2015) by Rachel B — 29 May 2015
Having lived on the island of Oahu, I wanted to see this movie just to enjoy the scenery. The opening scenes of historical times and cultural activities got me ready to enjoy this movie. I was so disappointed.
Hard to believe the romance between Stone and Cooper; harder still to accept the wordless role Krosinki had. The annoying "finger" AF officer was tiresome and not the least bit funny. Baldwin's portrayal of the AF General was ridiculous, especially the screaming as he entered the room.
Are there Hawaiians who really wear shirts saying they are Hawaiian by birth and Americans by force? Hmmm. Are there locked down areas where they live? Bill Murray as the eccentric billionaire might have been the only enjoyable acting and even that felt forced.
In fact, it seemed like all the actors showed up to earn money but not to make their roles believable. This movie is a dud; save your money and stay home.
