Review of Aloha (2015) by Lee D — 30 May 2015
I was so impressed by this movie. Emma Stone gave a terrific performance, as did McAdams and Cooper. For the first time in a LONG time, this is a movie that isn't going to shock you, it's just going to be enjoyable.
There is no graphic sex, nudity, violence, gore, and all the rest that seems to be the current obsession. I loved the way Emma Stone was smart, powerful, and didn't use her sexuality to do anything.
She was herself and she was incredible. We don't have enough movies right now for a younger audience to see that you don't need to be half (or fully) naked in order to be a hit. Both Stone and McAdams represented the characteristics that I would like to see more of in the world: Sincerity, power, and intelligence, BRAVO, Crowe!
