Review of Aloha (2015) by Caleb C — 01 Jun 2015
It's not perfect by any means, but I was deeply affected by it by the end. It's a bit of a mess of a story and somewhat of a poetic one at that as are all Cameron Crowe films. Some of the editing at hand here is likely what threw most of the critics off of this one, but for me it was a beautiful mess and one of my personal favorites of the year.
It has a lot of heart even if that heart is a confusing one at times. And as always, Crowes music choices within this tale work perfectly and hit the right heart strings at just the right moments. Also, Emma Stone was brilliant here and the chemistry between the cast was heartwarming to watch.
I would say for the romance and poetry lovers out there, this one if for you as well as someone wanting to see something a bit different from the usual dramedy romance.
