Review of Aloha (2015) by Julie B — 01 Sep 2015
I can't understand why everyone hated this movie. I thought it was one of the best movies I've ever seen. I know the plot was predictable and somewhat erratic, but I loved how so much of the story was told through glances and nuances in facial expressions and I loved how they turned the whole "not speaking" thing into a "bit".
The movie didn't even feel like a movie. I felt like I was there living it with them. I loved how the whole thing was shot. I loved the close ups. I would feel uncomfortable and like my own personal space was being invaded when the actors would get too close.
I loved Bill Murray in this. I loved the ending. This movie was like a breath of new air. I could watch it again and again and probably will.
