A movie that indulges in the saccharin, quirky dialogue and characters that Crowe is known for, #alpha is so clumsily structured it buckles under all of that weight. Despite some good performances, this insanely talented cast isn't able to make these characters and the mismatched tones of the film make much sense.
I mean, what was up with all of the mystical stuff... Was it real?
