The film opens with an almost fantastical portrayal of the rock n' roll world, and captures accurately the excited energy of youthful rebellion. Throughout, the dream is damaged by decidedly adult situations: greed, jealousy, and, at times, horror.

At the film's conclusion, when it seems as if the characters have lost more to rock n' roll than they could have ever gained, the film delivers the simple message of why we came together in the first place: the music.

A breathtakingly understated and intuitive examination of the dying counterculture of 1970's rock n' roll.
