Review of Almost Famous (2000) by Edgar P — 12 Jun 2011
With a lot of good music, an interesting plot and really funny scenes, "Almost Famous" is more than a really well-done movie, it's something with heart that make you feel great!
The energy of this movie is amazing. The characters are unforgetable, the dialogue is outstanding, each scene is unique and the light tone of the movie is light enough without lacking emotional depht (great work Cameron Crowe!).
The acting is amazing, specially from Kate Hudson (who's an explosion of energy while portraying such a charismatic character in such a flawless way that she's simply magnetic), Billy Crudup (who nicely plays a rising guitarist with heart in a world who lacks it) and Frances McDormand (who makes you feel pitty for her character, having both great dramatic moments and outstanding funny lines). Patrick Fugit more than holds himself between a lot of great performances by bounding with the audience who feel sympathy for him.
But Almost Famous wouldn't be the same without the music. The legendary "Tiny Dancer" scene is simply remarkable and beautiful and all the soundratck sounds great in a movie that looks and feels good!
More than just a movie, it is music and do you know what I must love about music? Well, I can start by saying "Everything".
A must see movie for everyone, specially for music lovers.
See it, enjoy it!
