Review of Allied (2016) by Scott H — 23 Nov 2016
The acting is pretty decent, but if you remove Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard what's left is a bland script with little character development worthy of getting anyone invested in the relationship that plays out.
It relies too heavily on the automatic reaction to care about the baby involved and that's a cheap driving force. It has an awkward sense of humor and is shot in too cliche a way for being directed by Robert Zemeckis.
Not boring, but only serviceable because of those involved and forgettable once the credits roll.
