For some reason, I really had trouble getting into this film. It is essentially a romance/thriller that is heavy on the romance. Set during WWII, this had the potential to be a great film. Good director in Robert Zemeckis, solid cast with Pitt and Cotillard, and interesting story.

Part of my problem was partly the look and feel of the film felt really synthetic to me. Also, as I mentioned it was heavier on the romance than the action which also pulled me out of the story some, and it dragged in parts.

I thought the performances were ok, actually Cotillard was pretty good. I think they were going for something along the lines of "The English Patient" and though they didn't succeed, for anyone that liked that film, might find this at least worth a watch.
