Review of Allegiant (2016) by Emily P — 23 Jul 2016
If I could give a negative rating of this movie I would. I think modern audiences these days are okay with changing story lines slightly and making positive revisions to novels for their movie screen debut.
However, this movie might as well be a spin off to the books I read. You have recreated an AMAZING and POWERFUL female heroin. Action scenes of her and having her speak up to the council is NOT as heroic as SACRIFICING herself for humanity.
If you think that viewers couldn't handle such a heroic end to such a meaningful story to our modern day world - you underestimate the emotional capacity of your viewers. This movie had the opportunity to show true heroism, family, and love that goes so far even BEYOND death.
I never leave reviews, but I am so disappointed in this film. I adore these actors, their performance was stellar. But this director should never touch a novel this near and dear to peoples hearts ever again.
DO NOT rent or buy. Waste of money and energy.
