Review of All the Real Girls (2003) by Val N — 09 Oct 2007
This is a very sad, real movie. After seeing David Gordon Green's 'George Washington', I was in a rush to see his other work. While not as good as GW, All the Real Girls was still a great movie. DGG's strength is making 'real' movies. The characters stutter, stop in mid-sentence, and say very strange things at times. I found myself recognizing some of the actions in this movie as some of my own. I felt a connection with the main characters' love.
Then, the turning point came and I felt my world shatter along side them. The realness of this film helped me connect to a situation I have never dealt with. I really enjoyed how non-Hollywood this movie felt. I recommend this movie, but I warn viewers to stay patient. If you can, it's quite the movie.
