Review of All the Queen's Men (2001) by Dave M — 28 Jan 2009
Enjoyable. Poorly thought out and obviously rushed through production, but with some charming, straight-faced performances despite the overt silliness. Eddie Izzard, of course, was fantastic fun, and most of the actors were even convincing, barring an appalling lack of research in writing the military scenes. As it was done for laughs, however, this can be forgiven.
Ultimately, it was a bit too long and disconnected and frankly random to really be a worthwhile watch. Izzard's standup comedy alone is much more worthy of your time. Nonetheless, a decent time-waster.
