Review of All the Pretty Horses (2000) by Connor C — 23 Jul 2011
Great performances here, especially by Matt Damon in this story by Cormac McCarthy (who also wrote No Country for Old Men). Two young cowboys from Texas in 1949 ride their horses to Mexico and find far more adventure than they are looking for.
This is nicely directed by Billy Bob Thornton, and the cinematography in this film is just glorious, the down side of this film seems to be in the screenplay...which is just too gappy and does not flow along as nicely as the book itself did.
Cruz and Damon's chemistry didn't work here either, but over all still a good ( just not great) movie.
