Review of All the President's Men (1976) by Edgar C — 22 Dec 2012
The heralded classic about the Watergate scandal is a riveting journalistic thriller. This is probably one of the best films on journalism, and the impact it could have, that has ever been made. Dustin Hoffman and Robert Redford are nearly perfect as Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward.
They risk their reputations and perhaps lives in uncovering the Watergate scandal. I love the long, lonely shots in this movie of big newsrooms and empty parking garage lots. The tone and pacing really suck the audience in.
A great film!
