While the directing, acting, & atmosphere of the movie are terrific, the film is aimed at an audience that actually experienced the Watergate scandal. Unfortunately many people of my generation aren't as inimately familiar with the subject.
My recommendation is to read up on Watergate first, and then watch this movie.
