Review of All the President's Men (1976) by Vito D — 26 Dec 2008
Hoffman and Redford's acting and Pakula's directing make the movie worth watching. So many great ideas! In fact, this film would have to be one of the most well directed films of the 70s.
I do question Robards' Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. As good as it was, there wasn't any outstanding about his performance. Holbrook as Deep Throat and Warden provided fine supporting performances though.
In most cases, this could have been just a plain drama about journalists but the cast and directing make it worth a look. If Rocky didn't win Best Picture in 1976, this would have been a fine choice.
