Review of All the King's Men (2006) by Monika M — 24 Jul 2009
Wow. A perfect example of how a great cast does NOT always result in a great film. I read the book by Robert Penn Warren, and STILL had a difficult time following the plot of the movie. The whole thing is so clumsy, disjointed, befuddled.
.. whatever you want to call it, it just does not work. Who are these characters? Why are they doing what they do? And not one of them is at all likable. To top it all off, the direction is so pretentious and self-gratifying.
.. the last couple of shots almost made me physically sick. What were all of these people thinking? One of the worst movies I've seen in a while.
