Review of All the King's Men (1983) by Neny N — 08 Oct 2007
A great novel, adapted by a good writer/director, and a superstar cast somehow equals to All the King's Men: one of the worst disappointments in recent filmmaking history.
The writing was abysmal and completely failed to capture the essence of the book. It was just a big pile of jumbled boring crap, which may have contributed to the incomprehensibly amateurish performances "phoned in" from some of the top stars in the business. Jude Law and Sean Penn were amazingly awful. Sean Penn's overacting in this turd made some of Jim Carrey's dramatic performances look subtle.
