Review of All the King's Men (1983) by Aaron B — 04 Jul 2007
Saw this last night. I'm usually not into political movies, especially anymore, but this was interesting. It gave an interesting glimpse into the 1950's, and I realized that I don't like politically charged endings.
The plot could have been better I thought, I just think something was missing. There is a love interest of sorts, the connection with the judge (Anthony Hopkins) could have been developed further. And the body-guard just shows up at the end of the movie.
Very fragmented in some ways. It just didn't reel me in. Had there been a stronger emotional bond, I think the movie would have showcased turmoil and corruption in a much stronger light. Still not bad.
I can't wait to see the alternate ending.
