Review of All the King's Men (1949) by Ariah K — 03 Feb 2008
Excellent cinematography and musical accompaniment. High quality acting and a good plot line. I could palpably feel the demagoguery of Huey P. Long, could see the idealism throughout the work, and finally witness the corruption as the main character in the film takes a step back to see the big picture.
The film is directed well in that respect, and I have no complaints. The mastery of the film is really that one can't decide whether Stark is really good or evil, as neither option can be completely discarded.
