Gore porn geared for those who believe violence can take the place of good writing. There's some books that shouldn't be turned into a movie and this is one of them. Desensitizing movie watchers to this level of violence goes against what the novel was trying to accomplish.
Awful that this is considered Oscar worthy. Talk about a statement on today's film industry.
