A superb war film that gives one of the most realistic viewpoints on battle. It's too bad there aren't more films made about WWI, but this film certainly makes up for the it. Uncommonly realistic for the time it was made, the film still packs a punch with its excellent battle scenes and portrayal of horrifying wartime acts.
