Review of All Quiet on the Western Front (1930) by Robert E — 18 Jun 2007
Rather long to sit through, but given that the First World War ended only 12 years earlier, and Remarque's book was published 1 to 2 years before the movie, it is a very good rendering of the story.
The ending takes generous artistic license from the book, but is unforgettable in its adaptation.
