A very true adaptation. The sense of impending doom was oppressive from the very beginning and was perhaps more so than the doom itself. I found the book much more harrowing but I think that is due to the medium rather than the film itself.
Odd to think that this is a film so starkly of its time and could not have been made ten years earlier and certainly not three years later.
