Review of All Quiet on the Western Front (1930) by Trevor H — 29 Sep 2010
An incredible eighty years on and still as profound an anti-war movie as you'll ever see. Sure, it takes a while to get used to Americans playing German soldiers, but still, a gem of a war movie that tells the story of five young, idealistic German boys who enlist to fight in WWI, only to find the horrors of trench war unspeakable.
The final butterfly scene says it all.
