Review of All Is Lost (2013) by Wayne M — 08 Mar 2014
An impressive film to be sure. With barely any dialogue and only one character this film relies totally on the performance of Robert Redford to carry the day and he does it superbly. Thankfully he plays it subtly and with nuance, not trying to over act but simply letting the story do its job.
At its core the story is one of survival and human ingenuity to achieve that aim. Aided by a subtle score and superb cinematography this film succeeds in gripping us that most basic instinct, survival.
