The old Sundance kid goes boating solo, has damage to his boat, and then is on a plight to survive in the solitaire open seas. That pretty much describes the plot of Writer-Director J.C. Chandor's mini-dialogue but gripping flick "All is Lost". The Sundance kid I am referring to is none other than the grand Robert Redford, whose nameless character titled "our man" is the main man (and only man , literally and cinematically) in "All is Lost". Redford, who has been lost himself pretty much in the acting field for some time now, delivers an extraordinary physical performance. His non-verbal gestures and behaviors brilliantly capture the challenging situation of his character's ordeal. Our man vehemently uses his smarts and boating skills in order to survive in the seas with no one in sight; no Coast Guard, Boat, Captain Phillips, Solami Pirates, or even the volleyball Wilson in sight. Maybe "our man" should have communicated with our woman" in "Gravity" and thrown a "lost in water & space" party. OK, enough; before all of you will be lost in my review here. Writer-Director J.C. Chandor does a credible job in channeling in the open seas what "our man" goes through in his orchestration of the picture. There is not much dialogue in "All is Lost" so I can't really comment on the scribe that the man Chandor wrote up. But I think you should man up or woman up as filmgoers, and find yourself with "All is Lost".

**** Good.
