This is a film that the critics love but the general public are indifferent about. I personally really enjoyed it from the spectacle of very little dialogue and just watching 1 man battle against the elements and the sea to survive.
It was excellently filmed and acted and was just flatout engaging despite Robert Redford's character being a complete sea noob.
