Review of All Is Lost (2013) by Mark D — 20 Apr 2014
Kind of a weird movie. I wondered right from the beginning what the hell this old dude was doing out in the middle of the ocean all by himself. It's no real spoiler to say that we never find out.
The point of the movie is to see how this lone man deals with crazy ass nature in a (relatively) small boat in the middle of nowhere.
It's pretty entertaining at times, but it also drags in others. They Should have gone with the less is more route like Gravity did. Actually, this is surprisingly similar to gravity, except replace space with the ocean.
