This is not the big Hollywood picture Cast away, nor is it the visually stunning Life of Pi. Although All is Lost may share some similarities with these films, it is unique in its own way. An old sailor wrecks his boat on the Indian Ocean and is forced to abandon ship.

Very few words are spoken with only Redford in the movie. To keep an audience interested by using only one actor who barely says anything is only a task that can be done by Redford. His performance was captivating, as was the directing by J.

C. Chandor( whose debut film Margin Call remains one of the best films I've seen this decade). A solid film through and through.
