Review of All Is Lost (2013) by Tanmart S — 15 Jul 2014
Initially I was a bit bored by the first half hour but then after that it was remarkable to see septuagenarian Robert Redford handle each and every peril that gets thrown at him with such resolve. The character he plays is clearly a sailor who knows what he is capable of and is prepared for such a calamitous event and that, to me, is interesting to watch.
I thought perhaps maybe a Mel Gibson would have gave just as good a performance and certainly I would have found that more believable but nonetheless this is a remarkable movie. The average moviegoer'll most likely find themselves struggling with this movie due to a lack of dialogue, additional characters and any kind of back story, but in the end I think a rewarding experience.
