The maritime equivalent of "Gravity" that follows captain Rob Redford every step of the way in his battle to keep afloat. There's barely any spoken words, with only "The artist" in recent years with fewer making this a strong example of cinema being the art form to show rather than to tell. I found this a hugely intriguing watch that unfolds in a very likely and realistic manner as things slowly go from bad to worse, and at times it's breathlessly intense. The only bad(ish) point here is that this isn't the type of film I could watch every 6-12 months, as it just doesn't have the depth, or the sense that I missed anything on the first watch for regular repeat viewings, but the first time watch is pretty damn great. Why this never got a much wider cinematic release is a travesty, but I suppose the cinema chains needed the screenings for "47 Ronin", the Justin Beaver movie, and "Moshi monsters".
