Review of All Is Lost (2013) by Jennifer T — 09 Nov 2014
First Impression: It's an agonizing survival suspense, I feel so miserable with this kind of movie genre. I knew from the looks of it. More likely it reminded me of that film cast away. Yet this is one of the most memorable survival film I have ever seen. Surviving in the middle of the ocean is not a joke at all. From reading survival tips, hungry and thirsty, incoming storms, the pain and a suicide thought. This embodied the whole film as Robert Redford performed it tremendously well.
Quality: Redform's performance nails it all. I mean he really did an amazing job as the guy who is surviving with just audible all the time. From the sound of the raining showers and the thunder storms. To the amazing visuals of tides in the ocean. I recommend watch this one on blu-ray.
Verdict: Amazing job for Chandor, amazing performance by Redford. Thus this really marks one of the most dramatic survival drama we have in years. 4 stars out of 5.
