Review of All Is Lost (2013) by Farron K — 05 Jun 2015
A modern "The Old Man and The Sea." Robert Redford plays a man out on the Indian Ocean by himself on his small yacht who barely speaks (there's only maybe 6 lines of dialogue after the opening sequence).
If you're into people-watching, this is an hour and a half of that, more or less. The dude encounters some bad storms, the boat gets wrecked, loses hope as douchebag people pass him by, and so on.
It's an interesting watch the first time around, and if you've always wanted to hear Gatsby scream "fuck" at the top of his lungs, consider this fan service. I think especially if you're into sailing/being at sea, this is a good movie to see.
