Review of All Is Lost (2013) by Tim M — 14 May 2016

Missed this in cinema release, pre-ordered on Amazon, just got to see it, although it arrived 3 weeks ago... As a sailboat crew member feel able to say most everything was done by Our Man that could be done against all odds.

A film for lovers of cinema and its human (one character only here but with whom you have no choice but to join the man, within yourself), the direction, suspense, hugeness of the man's impossible task, means you stay involved as the incidents arise.

Could one do as this man did? Or would you have done things differently? That is the question and possibly the allure of this memorable film. I fear though it will disappear from audiences radar.....Yet we need more of this genre, brilliant.

Redford, well - always is, will be - one of the very best movie actors screen presences of our time. Look at his biography over the past 50 years.....
