Review of All Is Bright (2013) by John S — 23 Dec 2013
A majority of the experience is a tad uneasy and messy, but by the film's end, you'll feel a very odd satisfying melancholy, which is something that summarizes the film perfectly. There isn't a lot of laughs which is disappointing considering the two funny leads, but the film does a good job balancing its highs and lows, producing a good dramedy.
With brilliant performances, a moving score, and a minimalist style, All Is Bright does something rare by combining warmth and poignant realism.
